João is one of the pioneer leaders of Vale do Catimbau. No wonder that locally his nickname is João Guide. João is native from Catimbau and his whole family lives there. With indigenous ancestors, he did not have the chance to study; however, he holds an incredibly vast knowledge of the Valley’s geography, animals and plants. João is a nice man who is always ready to give you a hand in Catimbau.
Luciano has been a trail leader for some years now. He is from Catimbau and loves working as an ecotourism guide. Luciano knows the right time to speak; he is discreet and does not talk much. He is a nice, calm man who will help you with whatever you may need.
The Pousada Santos (Santos Inn) is the best-organized inn from Vale do Catimbau. The place is clean, the beds are comfortable and the showers are nice. It has a fair breakfast and helpful workers.
You are going to live an experience, not just a simple trip.
It is going to be an authentic and exclusive experience, for just a limited number of people.
You are going to be welcomed and guided by experienced and well-prepared locals who know every nook and cranny.
You will use local products and services that encourage a sustainable development of the community (we follow Sustainable Development Goals “SDGs” by the UN).
We respect the carrying capacity of the environment - working in small groups (up to 6 people) so as not to affect the local environment.
We participate in socio-environmental projects in our destinies. Here in Buíque (Catimbau Valley National Park) we work with the Local Guides Organization.
We promote a green trip - Carbon Free Tourism. Beyond taking care of the chain of actions involved in your experience, we calculate the pollutant emissions of your flight and revert it by a partial reforestation, mitigating its impact. If you want, you can plant with us!
